In 1994, after having learned to design and build his own kart chassis, a change of pace found the Snyder County native behind the wheel of a micro-sprint for the first time. Driving for Selinsgrove owner Jay Furlong and with sponsorship from Cellular One Telephone, the wins soon followed in that division as well. In his one and only year in the class, the likable pilot notched four feature wins before moving on to fulfill a lifelong dream. It was time to go super sprint car racing!
